DTG can do it all. Want a t-shirt of your friend’s face for their birthday? Or a very detailed painting you once made on a shirt? DTG can make that happen. Compared to traditional screenprinting, DTG can accommodate more intricate designs with ease, whereas screenprinting looks better with a fewer amount of colors and detail. Direct-to-garment printing is a method that prints ink directly onto fabric using a high-end inkjet printer.
Now, let’s address the DTG myths.
1. ”DTG is low-quality” — Direct-to-garment printing is JUST as good as screen printing. The colors are vibrant and high quality.
2. “DTG doesn’t last” — DTG is PERMANENT. It will fade in the wash accordingly to how any other garment would or any other kind of printing. FEAR NOT.
3. “DTG feels weird” — We cure the ink with a belt dryer that allows the ink to dry more naturally as opposed to a heat press that gives garments a strange texture. Rock your DTG shirt with ease, it’s comfy.
Looking to try out a design before you place a full order? Looking to figure out the placement of your design on a garment? DTG is your solution. Its capabilities make it easy to print single runs rather than burning films and screens per ink color for screen printing. Direct-to-garment is also perfect for someone who wants a soft feel on a garment. DTG works best on 100% cotton garments because the cotton will allow the ink to absorb into the garment better.
DTG allows us to get creative with it. In the shop, the quickness and ease of DTG has allowed us to have a lot of fun printing shirts for parties or themes like May 4th or Valentine’s Day.
